Phishing!!!

Apologies for bringing this up..

this subject may have been discussed here before but nowadays, there seems to be so many NEW members that are using Phishing site here. Now I for one am P***ED OFF with these idiots who think that they can getaway unnoticed. I've been reporting these as i come onto them, but it seems that they ref: http://www.katzforums.com/showthread.php?t=108747 (if link doesn't work, then it most probably been deleted by the mods) tend to be new members using the same method.

Please, Please can you put a stop to this MODS..

..at least the initial posts they do were you randomly check their post or change the way the links are so that only direct links are allowed.

I know I'm going on and on but I've had my account stolen before :( and it's not a nice ordeal.

To round it off, these W**kers should not get any warnings and instantly get BANNED if people like me informs yourselves. And, when a new member signs up, they should tick a box or something to make them understand that Phishing is not allowed and will be banned without warning.

I agree, disable hyperlinks so that these people cannot post phishing links unnoticed here is one example of the many that I report, I am already logged into RS Premium so I know it is a phishing link and most that I report are mistaken as masks. when I report phishing links that is what they are and people should get an insta-ban because no one is so stupid as to not know that is what they are posting.

Im getting a bit sick of this. Ive reported many many threads in the last few days. Can something not be done? keeping links as-is? bans to go with it?

yea is annoying as hell
but to avoid this a follow a couple of simples rules

1) i never go to a link if it claims it rapidshare (or similar) but goes through a seperate link.. even though these are for anonymity i still wouldnt..
2) if it has anything before the rapidshare then yea dont click it
3) to be safe dont download if they have only posted 1 or 2 posts

just search another for proper links

do what I do and insert invalid username/pass, if it is legitimate RS will complain that you put in the wrong info, if it is not legit, the person gets invalid username/pass to wade through, a few quick look ways to tell if it is rapidshare and not a phishing site is to look at the filename, rapidshare always puts the filesize after the link, or look at the top, if it says anything but http://rapidshare.com/files/filenumber/filename it is a fake and put in a false username/pass anyway

If you find phishing, report it promptly.

Use the * at the lower left of the original post and somebody in power will take a look at the situation.

Also, if it refers to a Rapidshare link, I suggest you report it to them too.
