SMF Vs IPB

I am A big SMF Fan , so i Vote Smf Anywayz ,
but i hear many people talking about IPB That it is really good ?
So i ask you guys , What Do you think about it :

Well, SMF isn't exactly my favorite among free boards, but I really dislike IPB. So I'm going to go with SMF.

vBulletin wins it all though.

But if this is between SMF Vs. IPB

I would go with IPB in terms of board, and SMF if price is an issue only.

SMF,IPB not worth the money,very heavy,and not so great modifications available for IPB.
I have seen a few sites using SMF and they looked neat.

Really guys, whoever says <free forum script> is better than <paid forum script> is just being plain biased over the fact that one is free, while the other is free. If vBulletin or IPB was to be free, every single one of yous would be saying opinions of them quite differently.. 8-)

Absolutely not, if all forum software in existence was free I would still pick phpbb3 because I'm an advocate of Open Source code.

Also their code is VERY clean, and very efficient. It is the fastest forum software I have ever tried. and it keeps getting better. phpbb2 to phpbb3 is a huge leap, and I"m pour what they have achieved over the years.

And phpbb3 on a dedicated server just really flies :)

But you can't play the "if this" game can you?

Nevertheless IPB/vBulletin does have licenses, and they are pain. Period. I already find it a pain paying for hosting, I don't need to do the same for the software I use everyday on my sites.

And to those people who says phpbb doesn't have lots of mods. phpBB2 is Mod-Country. The only reason phpbb3 doesn't have a lot (only 100+ approved) is because it is still very new. But if you look at the development or In-Beta ones, it is astounding. By the fall, phpbb3 will have huge amounts of mods.

I say, IPB all the way. I'm a sucker for IPB, the only thing bad is It's price, but if you bought it when it had a $75/year license, that's not a big deal.

SMF just isn't as good looking out of the box, or as user friendly as IPB (all IMHO of course).

phpBB3 is my favourite over all boards.

But between them two I would say SMF as it has nice styles IPB is very boring lol.
