I personally ignored the shoutbox for the brief stint it was up and couldn't care less if it returns. I like the feel of this forum the way it is now. If I wanted to chat it up like the chatrooms of the old days then I would just get on MySpace and start messaging friends.

Furthermore, I like the idea of having a tutorial section that is updated frequently. I have done all of iMafia's tutorials and I am always checking back to see if there are more. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be nearly as popular as Katz so it doesn't get nearly as many posts (I don't like it quite as much either). I WANT TO LEARN!! I know there is the eBooks, Tutorials, etc. section but I think it would be nice if that got broken up a little bit making it easier to find what you're looking for. If I type Photoshop as a search I get tutorials, magazines, and ebooks. Maybe I only wanted a quick tutorial that someone posted rather than a list of reading material I have to download, extract, and scan for viruses. Just a thought.

Seconded. Because there isn't a set place for certain thing they get bumped into oblivion. The search engine should really be called the don't bother searching engine. Unless you know who posted it it's a lost cause. A tutorial section is long overdue. A good example was a recent post on video formats and terminology, it's now buried. If that's the future result for hard work and competence people wont bother. This means more work for the forum support staff as they find themselves answering the fifteenth question that week on how to burn an ISO . The question shouldn't be why can't we but how and when.
