Rapidshare, but you have to use a premium account or it's pretty annoying. If you have a subscription to the usenet service, I would rate them both the same. Torrents are also good, but you usually get good speeds with private trackers, and even then, you gotta keep an upload/download ratio.
I chose Rapidshare since i got premium.

Rapidshare is best for me, takes about 1.5 hours to download 700Mb using Flashget, even if computer turns off will continue to download from where it stopped. Also with torrent you are uploading at the same time that you are downloading and my provider bills you for the total (upload+download) which is unfair as the uploader is paying for his upload through his provider (going to change providers when contract expires). Plus the problems with phishing, malware, popups and spyware

Rapidshare for me because Torrents don't even download on my computer correctly. Something about there needing to be a certain amount downloading said file for it to speed up but I tried downloading Wire Season 5 before I even messed with rapidshare on some torrents and in my download manager, it was barely 1% after an hour. That was the end of my torrent days. A damn shame too because they got some good stuff on the big torrent sites. But nothing I can't find with Rapidshare. I download entire seasons and great DVD rips in record time and then put it on DVD. It's the greatest thing on the internet right now. Downloading 700 mb-800mb rips in no more than 25 minutes is excellence.
rapidshare utorent is owned by the software companys

I would say "torrents FTW" but can't anymore :(
Our provider has blocked all ports during the day, and during the night they are only open from 2am till 7am.
+ the download speed went from 300kb/sec to 60kb/sec.
I ain't no fan of Rapidshare, never been really.
Megaupload and 4shared ftw now ^_^

Torrents are way faster. File Storage downloads require waiting time and also download many parts. 5 parts is acceptable but 23+ parts <_<

Well i have no idea from witch kind of supposed "torrents you people are downloading from with 10kb/s-80kb/s sinc ei'm getting down off them with 350kb/s-2,5mb/s and my connexion it's just a 10mb/s connexion. I like Torrents better then rapidshare and other sites witch operate like it, since it takes me a whole day to download off them something witch is more then 200ms. I need 2h to download a 700mb movie and that's 2 h if i stay at my pc and start downloading every 15min. So that's why torrents get my vote. I only use rapidshares for small things less then 100mb. Once i needd to get a movie on a dvd, on torrents i need a day if it's well seeded even less, but on rapidshare there were 58files, i needed almost a week to download the movie...

Its just a 10 mb connection for you but in many countries that unimaginable speed!!!!!!!!!
For eg- In India max available speed till now is 16 MBPS!! and thats unaffordable for the common user!! Its only for big companies!!
I pay around 25$ per month for the connection which provide 384 Kbps speed and unlimited bandwidth!!
What are the rates over there??

Rapidshare all the way, cuz i have a premium account, and get downloads of over 1.5 Mb/s :P
But sometimes, when you are looking for really rare stuff, you can get it only on torrents, and it's free..

Rapidshare by an infinite amount of years. Plus it helps when you have a T1 (1.544 Mbps) connection. :D

Haha 6 for torrents.
Torrents do get a stable speed at like 4am in the morning for me but i've stopped using them completely.
Premium on RS is top! Nice fast speeds any time of the day :).

for me its gotta be rapidshare. Personally i feel its alot more safer and faster! Just get a download manager, save your login and away you go! Use your full speed of your broadband too.

rs, torrents are just too slow, i walk into the city, to the store and buy whatever it is i want before it's done downloading. That's right, i don't download because it's free, i download because i'm too lazy to go and buy it.

Rapidshare is the best but there are certain things which are usually banned on rapidshare like latest music albums which usually forces me to use torrents as an alternative.

Rapidshare, by far the quicker, more stable and less likely to contain crapware like torrents.

I prefer torrents, no limited downloads per day and i can easily resume/pause downloads. The only problem is sometimes i find it hard to search for certain torrents.
Torrents can also support other people through seeding, working together :)

Torrents is just too slow and inconsistent in the speed department, unless you're a member of some exclusive trackerz.
