I just have a question for everyone.....Why are you using Rapidshare for your uploads?????

It's so slow when you download the files. I think that it is the worst of the top one-click hosts that I have used. It makes it even more strange when 80% of all the links on download communities like this one use it for the files....Note that I'm talking about the "free" use of Rapidshare and not any of the paid subscriptions. I'm in Sweden and I get around 80 kbps on Rapidshare. On "MegaUpload" I get around 300 kbps on their "free" offer. You can also upload bigger files there compared to Rapidshare. On all the other sites I use I get around 300-400 kbps but not on rapidshare it's way slower (see above)...I will never get why Rapidshare is so popular.....Please tell me why you use it.....

By the way....Putting in these "Image Verification" when you make a comment makes me crazy.....

:P

1. Rapidshare have now throttled the free user in terms of download speeds but they now have no time limits. On the premium you get as fast as your connection is.

2. For free users on RS you can upload 200mb on a premium you can upload 2gb (in one file).

Rapidshare was one of the original file upload sites all the other came later really hence why so many people use it, at the time it was the fastest in terms of everything (download speeds etc) Rapidshare to my knowledge is the cheapest filehoster there is (I may be wrong however).

As for the image verification this is to prevent spam bots from posting spam they are a needed part of the forum.

Thanks Stoner for your answer. I have found some great file hosts that you don't even have to wait for 70 seconds like on Rapidshare and get 8 Mbps (1MBps). Isn't that great :D

By the way, I have just started to use sharing forums like this great one (Katz-Forum). Here in Sweden is not common to use sharing communities like this one but we use:

1. Private Torrent Sites - We have tons of great ones
2. General sites like the Big Swedish one (Pirate Bay)
3. DC++ (Has always been big here in Scandinavia or at least in Sweden)

Where are most people on this forum from? Is it from all over the world or from a particular country or continent?

Thanks for a great site...I will use it a lot in the future :D

Members here are from all over the world, as you get more into the scene you will probably use torrents less and less (i never use them at all now) since everything u want can be found on RS or the others.

Another good upload site includes;

ifile.it
mediafire.com

both of these are totally free to use

Not many upload to netload, or even megaupload, especially those TV shows.

I've gotten accustomed to rapidshare even though i'm a free user it serves its purpose.
I've been also using mediafire.com - great service, you guys should check it out. the good think is that if a link is dying u can create a free account and transfer that link to your account and it stays alive.

Cheers

Just to reiterate what others above have said, Rapidshare isn't too bad, although they're going through a temporary bad patch at the moment; but to be honest, a premium account is excellent value. 8p per day is brilliant (a years subscription), I'm on a 20MBit connection and it's cheaper for me to pay the cost of rapidshare than leave the computer running overnight downloading a number of torrents. If you're going to start getting things from rapidshare, I can't recommend enough getting a premium account.

People buy rapidshare premium accounts and end up loving it so thats one reason why you see so many rapidshare download links. I'm not a big fan of rapidshare but sometimes thats the only place you can download certain things but I can usually find almost anything on megaupload. Megaupload is by far better in my eyes for a free user and you can easily download from it all day long.

I even created a tutorial about megaupload you should check it out,

I used to despise rapidshare because I hated waiting forever, then about 2 years ago I got a premium and then I got into the groove with it and started uploading, getting rapidshare points and getting free rapidshare time, Because of how they offer a months rapidshare for 10,000 points or less depending on any specials, etc.
Its easy for everyone to use 1 thing, because that way people who want the best speed and no wait times, etc can just pay for the one service.
Plus theres more rapidshare tools than anything.
I have RapidGet on my startup lol.

Most links are rapidshare, so there isn't alot of choice unless one wants to use a torrent program, like Vuze. Downloading from a website is much faster than downloading from a p2p. There isn't problems like fake, corrupt files when using links at a website like this one. Rapidshare doesn't charge much, and there is a option for free downloading.

I always use RS - I would use DepositFiles more often but as a free user there are never any slots available in my country

but even RS I get 600kbs down but DF I only ever get about 100kb once in a blue moon

plus I know a few guys who donate RS accounts to me

1. It's not expensive.
2. It's easy to find lnks you're looking for.
3. On premium version files come full speed.

I wasn't really a fan of RS until I got a premium account. But the other filesite alternatives either take too long and/or keep telling me I have another IP downloading at the same time, when I don't. Clear cookies, ipconfig release/renew - same thing. So I guess it's the lesser of several evils. For me, it comes down to:

1) 80%+ of all files are on Rapidshare. Availability and variety is key
2) The point system works to give you additional time when you have a Premium account and upload for others to share
3) It's fast enough, and decent during 'Happy Hours' with free access
4) Plenty of RS indexing sites out there to help in searching for items

<It's certainly helped me in establishing my online business - some good content out there, but I'm not going to pay for every little ebook when 95% of people copy others' content, call it their own and charge for it. Better to find a community of like-minded individuals for information and resource exchange (like WA).>

So if I am going to pay for one premium service, RS is it for me. If I see things in depositfiles/mega/etc., I look for a RS mirror or indexer for it. If not, I simply move on.

Okay this will show my real age, I am so old I remember when you would post a message in a group on a NNTP server and wait for a response to get a file, then you had to convert it back after you downloaded it in pieces and then copied it to your 3.5 inch floppy, but then the internet evolved, then it was FTP, you would get on a private ftp server and upload a file and get a ratio of 1 to 2 or worse and would upload several files to get enough credits to download one.

now after all that it went to limewire and then torrents, I used them all, but torrents now are so full of trojans anymore because hackers will re-upload with there viruses, so I basically do a search on fileshunt.com and find every file I ever dreamed of, then I use google to find where these RS downloads are linked like on here, thats why I am here now to be with the honest people and to post my links of virus free music and programs all in zip format so everyone can view them. okay that is all I know so thnx. :)

p.s. there are several sites that search all the file servers, so many to list them all. RS Rocks.... !!!
