I know, I/we should be slaughtered for the way in which we dealt (or didn't?) with this whole mess. Yes, I am thoroughly ashamed of myself. :((
Our previous hosting company (Intercage, which is now out of business), initially responded to our emails informing us that they'd be able to make our server's hard drive available sometime this week (false hope). Following emails and a voicemail from us to them went unanswered and now, here we are going live with a not really all that old backup.
Please accept my sincere apologies. I hope we can put together some kind of backup system in place, because frankly, shit happens.
