Proudly using Macs since 1984 when I was a kid, and still have my first Mac (Mac 512k) working in excellent conditions. I also use an old Pentium II with Win2k on the side for those small only PC things that I need once in a while.

it's a real waste of cash. I bet you 100$ that i can find the same specs in a pc and size of the mac for less than you payed for that mac.

The question was: how many Mac users are there on here? So all you guys posting that you'd never pay for a Mac obviously can't read. Get your own thread. :P

I use a Mac and occasionally run Windows on it for testing or games...

i use mac on a dell mini 9. cant afford a real one but this modded leopard is faster anyways and i can get my mini in my jacket pocket. the lack of programs apart from adobe stuff (which is why i put osx on it) is a problem, but for on the fly image processing when out with my camera its ideal

That is total bullshit...

1, a mac is always faster with the same specs. because Mac is a reliable OS and it handles memory way more efficient than a windows OS can ever do, also it is less vulnerable to virusses and because it's unix based it's also lighter, faster and more reliable...

perhaps you pay a little bit more for a mac, but atleast you get quality...
i myself would never buy a windows OS, i mean, who wants virusses pre-installed ?
( VISTA: Virusses, Intruders, Spyware, Trojans, Adware )

And don't call me a mac lover, i don't own a mac. though i'm thinking of buying one..
i'm a proud linux user...
i will never pay for shit about a company that burned down it's competition cuz they couldn't win ( it's true... microsoft did that )

As someone told me before on this forum, Mac's are only stable because they design software for their own products only.

Vista only have viruses is because majority of the computer users use vista, if mac's equaled to the amount of users using vista, then there will definitely be viruses on it.

Mac's have viruses too:

Lastly, I agree with bloodhacker2. I would get a good spec pc laptop and then install leopard using iDebeb, iPC, iATKOS, etc...

By the way, does anyone know how to install the iDeneb 10.5.7 Combo Update properly on iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5? Everytime I run the update, the machine hangs during boot :(

Finally an argument with a mac user that has no idea what the hell he is talking about.

1. Find a virus that is pre installed on vista and i will send you $100 USD, this truly shows your ignorance .

2. Yes, mac is unix based, so go find me games that where made for mac, or for this matter ANY programs that where made for mac. I can name over a million programs that where made for windows, and more. naming programs for mac is a little hard for you guys huh.

3. If your not and IDIOT and know how to do basic updates and scans on your computer, than you dont have to worry about viruses.

4. you just watch, when mac comes out with affordable mac's and they become more economical, people will start making viruses.

5. Who cares what Microsoft did, it's called competition, mac had the same opportunity to burn down Microsoft but just dint think of it first...

6. I am glad you are a Linux user, i am one also. But their is a big difference with mac and linux.

Linux= FREE
MAC= $2000 USD

Linux Programs= FREE
Mac Programs= $500 - $2000 USD

I could go on....

can you game on a mac????

DoctorDee
07-18-2009, 08:25 AM
You can game on a mac, some games are released Mac native. See here for more details. http://www.insidemacgames.com/previews/

But (all modern) Macs can also run Windows in a virtual machine using VMWare or Parallels, or can dual boot to Windows. The main reason to do this is to run games... because Mac has most software that Windows has (Office, Photoshop, etc) or its own equivalents that are, in most cases, just as good.
