I tried to burn a simpsons cartoon studio to ISO , maybe the file was no good ? Which media should I use ? Cd's or dvd's? Does it matter ? Any help will be greatly apreiciated . Thanx !

Ill try helping with descriptions of the version im using. Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.

1 .From the main window (wizard) that pops up, choose "Create/Burn Disc images"

2. Select "Burn a CD/DVD/Blueray Disc from a Disc Image".

3. Click the "browse" tile and navigate to the folder where your ISO image is and double click on the Iso file to select it.

4. Insert a blank CD into your burner (as i recall the Simpsons studio came on a CD), and click on "Write".

5. All should be fine now, if however the image doesnt seem to burn correctly, then try writing at a lower speed (by clicking on "change options")

Anyway, hope this helps. If not, be a bit more specific about the problem as burning an iso is usually a pretty simple deal and it might be something else thats causing the troubles.

Okay, not sure wtf is going on for your side of things, but having used a link for
the studio from the Kats main page :

http://apps.katz.ws/download/903026/App/Simpsons%20Cartoon%20Studio/

I downloaded and installed it. No problem there. It was still in ISO form so i mounted and extracted the files to install it. You could do the same. Use a tool like Daemon tool (http://www.daemon-tools*****dtcc/download.php

It may warn you about requiring 8bit color for the media files (rofl), but just ignore it (remember it was made for windows 95 hehe)

Tested twice, works fine. Ive uploaded the Iso that worked for me. so mount it, install it, play it =)

Okay, no time like the present to learn this as Virtual drives are a must have these days (for cracks/installling etc).
A virtual drive or "mounting", basically creates a software version of your usual CD/DVD drive. As far as most programs are concerned, they will see it as a Real optical drive. For example, you could create 5 virtual drives and programs will think you have 5 CD drives in your PC :)

1. If you have Daemon already installed, there will be a little icon in your start up tray (icons near clock in bottom right of screen). It kinda looks like a circle with a lightning bolt thru it. Right click this.

2. Choose "virtual CD/DVD drive" and then select your virtual drive from the window that will pop out. By the sound of your set up, it will probably be "Device 0: [F]"
Click on it and choose "mount image".

3. Now navigate to where your simpsons .Iso image is (wherever you unzipped it to). If you are unsure of which file to mount, pop out the "Files of type" option and change it from "all files" to "image files". This will automatically hide any file that is not a disc image file. (Dont try and mount the .rar file ;)

4. Once you have found your simpsons .Iso image, double click it to load it.

5. If all went well and you mounted the right file, chances are you will be looking at the simpsons install screen right now. If not, open "my computer" and right click your new drive and choose "autoplay". If the gods of ungodly bad luck have something against you, you may even have to "explore" the disc and open the install file itself.

Be sure to mount the .iso from the http://rapidshare.com/files/9810149/The_Simpsons_Cartoon_Studio_iso.rar file i uploaded, not the first one. the first one is just the install files.

Oh, and leave the .Iso mounted. It needs to be in the "drive" everytime you play the game/program.

Phew! Hope such an old game was worth the trouble and wait =)

Thanx so much ...yes I did need my hand held through that , I wll now practice a few times to get it straight .Your post it would seem as if all goes well deserving of being "pinned " or made sticky status to keep for explaining to others who may be as lost as me . Thanx for your time and patience !

Another great program to burn iso files is Ultraiso.
It can burn almost any kind of iso wether it was made with daemon, alcohol nero and so forth. sometimes you need to convert the iso to a standard iso but these shared iso's are rare.
