well. i recently heard about torrentspy.com and the piratebay. i searched them and they seem to be pretty fast. i found the adam douglas collection on one of them. i was surprised to find it. i was using azuaras or soemthing like that. it seems to use a lot of resources when you have a bunch of stuff going on it. plus to download fast, you seem to have to be uploading at like 10k, if there is a better torrent app that you don't have to upload so fast let me know.

Are torrents really that good?
I personally think that P2Ps are great, but you find rare stuff on sites.
The problem I had with torrents, was that it would take over a day to download a file. I have a cable internet connection up to 2.2 mb/s.
So I haven't tried ever since?

i just wanted to say that i got an email saying that i downloaded soul caliber 3 from a torrent site. it was logged and tracked. so if you download from torrent sites i suggest using a proxy or a program that makes it a little harder for them to track your ip. i since it was a ps2 game not music, software, or even a movie.... it makes me wonder if i just got unlucky since i rarely use torrent files to get stuff. azures was my downloader program, but i didn't think to hide my ip because i didn't expect to get hit with an e-mail over a ps2 game. yeah. it's easier to download a backup copy instead of trying to make one yourself, but due to the fact that comcast has an accurate log of how much my house downloads on a daily basis, the last thing i need is to argue it with them since if they shutdown my service, well that means i'll being paying for sprint wireless or a t1 connection, both of which i can't afford right now. so to sum this post up in one last sentence:

I SUGGEST USING A PROXY OR HIDING YOUR IP TO MAKE IT HARDER TO TRACK IT.

I use 2 rssfeeders to check for new torrents, but most of the torrents i download are from demonoid, sometimes from pirate bay or isohunt.
Isohunt may have the most torrents, but this is only torrentslisting and this does not mean that the tracker will work with the torrent from isohunt.
As i program i use utorrent, works fine and much faster as azureus, more connections.
In terms of safety, iptracking is a part of the downloadservice because you want other pcç to connect to yours so you can download faster. The only thing is that you have to open a port in your firewallsettings that can only be used by your torrentprogram. So for protection open only one forwarded port for others to access. If you get troubled by to many requests on that port, you can use blackice to monitor it and even block access to unwanted ip's.

And one other thing you can speed up your download by enabling DHT even if they tell you that you shouldn't and set a uploadlimit for uploading.
Enabling DHT gives more connections and setting uploadlimits stops the interference in the download.

Well, this is Thurday, so I tried Demonoid, and it seems to be down at the moment :( . I was using Azureus, but not only was it too complicated for a noob, I heard it was easily tracked so I got rid of it, and am using BitLord and BitComet at the moment; I really do like them better. I, too am using Comcast, and it is not my connection, but that of some friends at whose house I am staying until I can get a job and get back on my feet again; boy, would they be pissed if I got them disconnected, and rightfully so! I really do need to look into using a proxy server.

I know this is really retro, but I am especially seeking W&2&K& stuff; I need a reliable advanced server, as well as S&Q&L& , I&S&A&, and E&x&c&h&a&n&g&e& enterprises for study. I would buy them if I had the money, and will probably do so anyway when I can afford it out of guilt, but right now, I am just a poor student. I prefer them in English, but could muddle through the German if I had to. I also need CBTs and other tuts for this stuff. Does anyone know right off hand which site(s) might be best for this kind of stuff? I have my own personal reasons for doing the 2000 track, then upgrading, and especially since I am already half way through my E and others, cannot be budged. Iam, afterall, stubborn ;) .

With a speed of 2.2MB/s yeah, life can be quite hard snatching files off torrents but if you're connexion is a broadband and not with a modem, then you should be having a nice downloading speed, i was catching 20-300kb/s with my 2-2,5mb/s modem connexion a year ago, with my new 10mb/s connexion now i get 20kb/s-4,8mb/s depending on the torrents life.

Many say torrents have became unsafe these days, but i can't stop using them...
