Windows7 compatibility

Can any respected member of this forum help me to take a decision? That is i want to install Windows7 on my laptop...but i am confused about certain things...

1. Does win7 compatible with all kind of software?:-?
2. Does win7 compatible with xp or vista 32 bit compatible software & app?:-?
3. Does win7 capable of running major amount of games?:-?

Or i should wait more to be known this win7 operating system to the users of this world....:P

I have no major issues yet.

1. I don't use a whole lot of software (Apps) but there is a good amount that will work and anything that won't work and is still an updated program then the makers will move to make it 7 compatible on offical release.
2. Sot of mixing 1 and 2 but it will depend on the app, if it's xp and vista compatible then it's worth a shot but if it's only xp compatible and not vista then there is a less of a chance. If there is no 7 version then try the vista version of the app first.
3. I did a thing about 7 games a while back but have more or less given up on it as games without issues are alot less than ones with. Updated comodo to 3.10 but haven't rechecked every game with the firewall running, i also gave up on look9ng for L4D fix but i didn't really look that hard.

Games i have or have not got to run on 7. Keep in mind i'm using RC1 7100 64bit

Call of Duty 5 (Need DX Runtime)
Company of heros + Opposing Fronts (Tested with 2.300 patch)
Crysis
Far Cry 2 (Didn't install punkbuster, patch 1.03, works with comodo on or off, Nvidia Gpu crashes that never happened in Xp or Vista)
Freelancer (Patch 1.1 and Run as Admin, Black Bars on the sides)
Freelancer ModManager v1.3
GTA IV (Tested with patch 1.3)
HalfLife 2 (Run as Admin)
Medal of honor: Allied Assualt (Warchest version, no exp/patch installed, Black Bars on the sides)
Mercenaries 2 (Tested with patch)
Prototype
Terminator Salvation
Warcraft III + Frozen Throne (Run as Admin, Black Bars on the sides)
X3 Reunion 2.0 (Tested with Patch 2.5, unable to continue saved game)
X3 Terran conflict (Works with patch 1.2)


Not running (If you know how please reply)

Left for Dead (Kept getting bsod, gave up looking for fix)

Side Notes:
1: Comodo Firewall 3.9 prevented some games from running (Black Screen and Pc freezing), disabeling it allowed the games to run.
2: I only installed and tested to see if the game runs. (CoH + Exp, Freelancer, Far Cry 2, GTA IV played indepth)
3: All started from shortcuts made by installer.
4: Only singleplayer has been tested - Online with no firewall HA.

The only probs I've had so far are McAfee IS 8.5i, Daemon Tools and and a hardware issue with an Atheros AE5007EG wifi card.

I have ran shed loads of software without any other probs. Including, Adobe suites, Website X5, hijack this and hss spot shield.

Glad it helped, on a personal view i really like 7.

Also stay clear of reg defraggers and cleaners until the full release (I use ccleaner), lavasoft adaware had an issue as well that required me to untinstall via safemode but it might be fixed by now.
