It's not working well for me either, it's taking a minute or so to load a page.
I guess they have server issues and will sort it out.

Your problem can be your browser , internet speed or any virus that make your search on internet too slow

I spend most of my day online, either my main rig, my laptop or WinMo smartphone and I never have any problems with Wikipedia, I use Firefox except on my WinMo which is IE.

If by slow you mean by gathering information, then yes, it's growing slow but it's the best and i woulden't change it for no other wiki on the net.
