To ALL who KNOW who I am referring to...

Yesterday, I downloaded a few things from Katz and a couple of other sites.

Today, I go to RS, only to find out that not just one, but FOUR different people tried to hack my account.

The passcode and all info has now been changed.

However, I am officially delivering a STRICT warning, not to be taken lightly.

I have, thanks to RS, EVERY PERSON'S IP address who tried to get my account.

If I EVER...and I mean EVER (!!!!!!!!!!) have this happen again and see ANY of these IP addresses as one of the second attempts to take over my account, you will have total HELL to pay!

You see, in the "cyber world" no one REALLY knows who they are talking with via chat.

So, let me enlighten those who KNOW they are guilty, that, not only do I have the financial means beyond your imagination, but I have SO many friends, both here in Europe and in my home country of America, that IF it happens again, you WILL be prosecuted. You will definitely be seeing the police standing at your door.

hes been phished always save your password to your browser once is bad twice to have a account phished is stupid on xanders fault there are plenty of tutorals out there to explane how to stop your password getting stolen and if i remember correctly hereward pm you how not to get phished

Don't warn/threat this person/s for whatever reson because if you can do what you say you can then just do it! I don't think they care shit about your feelings and specially they don't care shit where you come from or whatever you done before. Thiefs is like that and they have there own set of standards and morals for what is ok and what is not. Don't play with them, act instead in whatever way you can.

Yeah I as the other members that now comment on your post belive the same that you have been phished and there are some basic protections you can do to protect yourself and yes hereward is a great source of knowledge on RS but there is actually a sticky post on the subject that covers almost all that you need to know. In The Netherlands it is still very much legal to download.

I have been loyal and, if anything, I would think that you guys would want to know if there's someone here (four to be exact) doing this.
I'm not the villain. I'm the one who was hacked.
So, yes, the police here will do something, as it's not a crime in my country.
I'm sorry if you feel like I was "rude" or whatever you were thinking when you replied, but, it seems like there would be SUPPORT in trying to stop this from happening to anyone here...not just myself.
However, I'll take the high road on this one.
If you want to diss me, when I'm the one who was used, fine. I'll be your scapegoat.
After all, criticism says a lot more about the person giving it, than the person it's directed towards.

How can some one know your password and username ???????????????????????

Well, if I knew that, I wouldn't have had my RS account hacked. All I know is that it WAS hacked and was given an entirely new log in and passcode, as RS traces all IP addresses and four different ones were not mine but from here.
So, if anyone knows how, please enlighten me.

Thank you very much for seeing things as I intended.
You showed more tact, kindness and understanding so far than any comment yet.
After two years of being very loyal to this site, I am quite amazed over the negative responses and, in my opinion, vicious attacks on my statement.
And I WOULD give the administrators the IP's, but half of them are the one's attacking me, so I don't see much concern, after all this time of being a member here.
But, there's great news for everyone!
I'm moving back to America in one week.
So, once there, I will no longer be here anymore, as it IS illegal in America to download, but not here in The Netherlands.
It's just such a shame that my last week here has to be like this.
Two years of helping people keep their RS memberships, two years of thanking every person for every single thing I ever downloaded, two years of having chats with various people whom I met through this site, and now, my last week, and not only does the RS thing happen, but the STAFF here just blasts me out the water.
Well, as I said, I'll be moving back home to the States on Saturday, the 15th.
So, no one will have to worry about me ever again.
For the most part, it's been fun and I thank all those whom have been so generous and kind.
For the "haters", karma is alive and kicking. Just remember that.

I did check. Every time I download, I first do the link checker.
Then, at RS, I ALWAYS do a phishing check...now that I know about it from the first time (which was a while back, btw, for those who are reading), and I use the "smart screen" filter to make sure that it is, indeed, RS that I am on and that the links are valid links.
Then, before I join, I ALWAYS scan them for viruses and re-scan AFTER joined.
So, what else can one do?

the only thing you require is....

1.) Log on to the pc.

2.) Open RS yourself and fill in all the details. Cookie saved. Bingo!!

3.) Now whenever you have to DL from RS you dnt have to enter the details as cookie is already saved. If you have to then you are sure it is a PHISHING PAGE!!


4.) If you want to DL the file and it asks fro details. Close the link. Open RS manually. Enter details and then open the link. If it still ask ITS A PHISHING PAGE!!


5.) Generally if you enter the details once you dnt have to enter again unless you delete your history/cookies etc!

I know your pain because mine too was just hacked into. Fortunately, they were 'kind' enough not to change my password or account login info. They only used my rapidpoints to make a 30 day account.

I don't really see the need to go off and publicly express your digress with everyone. Hey, even I knew to take my issue with rapidshare support. I'm not dissing you, I'm just letting you know so in the future people don't get the impression that your a dick. :)

If you say you got the 4 IPs from the person(s) that tried to steal you're acc, woulden't it be wise to send them to an admin just in case? So we could know witch members on this forums should get banned or at least to keep an eye on them if you don't have solid proof that they did it, otherwise, i'm sure others won't be as lucky as you are, and will defenetely lose they're account(s).
