I'm wondering if there's any compression tools that able to compress a file to 10 or 20%, fast and doesn't consume much memory.

Yesterday i try to compress 4gb of my movie file using kgb but i stopped it cos' i see it takes 5 hours to finished. I couldn't imagine how long it takes if i should decompress it later. :))

Or... there's no such thing yet?

Aint Winzip theoretically able to do that? I dont know how much resource it hogs when doing a big file like that but give it a go if ya havent and try with a smaller file first. (y)

Try 7-Zip

http://www.7-zip.org/

or IZArc

http://www.izarc.org/

They are the best free compressing tools, i use & test both.

I thought Winrar can do this as well for you have a look at all of them and see what one is better for you

I was gonna try 7zip but I figure 3hours is lil to long to compress a movie and not get a rate much better than winrar...5 mins

I've had the best results with 7-zip but your really talking a fraction more compression over winrar in most cases. There are other compressions tools out there that do good stuff but would be useless for the likes of a move, not even really sure you can compress a movie other than reencoding it to a better file type or risking visuale and audio damage.

7zip tried (ultra compression). only reduced less 30% of original size.
also tried nanozipe. same thing as 7zip
i want a compression tools that at least reduce 60 to 90% original size.

I think the safe and better is '7-Zip' you should try, there is no possible 10 or 20% safe compression
