I don't really think that i could've added to the previous thread (http://forums.katz.ws/showthread.php?t=9348) about this but i'd like to know is it possible for webmasters to actually view what rating that they have on the basis of 1-5? - the one that relates to how high the submissions are listed.

Is it only the katz staff members that have influence on this rating? or is it a user based thing?

Also, if it's possible, could you kindly answer hadrik's question as i'm quite interested myself.

"Although, i hope this will raise submitters mind to increase their quality of sites. Can you please let us know some basic pre-requisite of getting a good rank at least"

Thanks.

At this moment in time, it is only Katz staff that have direct access to sites' ratings. It is one of the members of staff that assesses your site and determines a 1-5 star rating and users have no say in this -- one of the reasons being to prevent abuse (by rogue webmasters).

This rating system is still under development, and thus the lack of information on the thing as a whole.

We have features planned to allow webmasters to see their sites' ranks (along with the status of their submissions) -- no ETA, unfortunately.

I shall be posting a "Best Practices" topic as a guide for webmasters.

Ah, alright. Thanks for clearing that up.

Are you able to tell, for example, the owner of a certain website that submits to katz, his site's rating via private means (i.e. a pm or such)?

I'll be eagerly awaiting the webmaster rank feature ;)

Yes, only via email (http://katz.ws/faq.php#Contact) though, please. I find PMs from webmasters relating to Katz Downloads annoying.

Ok, i've sent an e-mail to the gmail address that was provided.

Thanks.
