Der hirnerweichte Kiffer Dale (Seth Rogen) hat sich mit seinem mindestens genauso zugedröhnten Marihuana-Dealer Saul (James Franco), der ein ziemlich starkes Kraut namens Ananas Express vertickt, angefreundet. Als Dale zufällig Zeuge eines Mordes wird, in den Drogenboss Ted (Gary Cole) und eine korrupte Polizistin verstrickt sind, lässt er vor Schreck seinen Joint fallen. An dem raren Dope finden die Killer spielend den Weg zu Saul und machen Jagd auf die beiden.

Zwei vernebelte Krautköpfe sind der Hit in einer vollkommen verrückten Kifferkomödie aus der Akkord-Fabrik von Judd Apatow (”Superbad”). Die Buddys landen in einem ausgewachsenen Actionszenario, womit sich der Spaß zwischen “The Big Lebowski” und “True Romance” positioniert.
