Not yet infected, Earths final front, the resistance, a band of mercenaries, soldiers and civilians, have one goal in common: To stop the deadly infection and destroy the core of all evil, hidden in the depths of Conceyta. Scouts have undertaken a merciless mission to bring detailed plans and data on the location of the power and its defence line. A last attempt to save mankind. So it has come to be that the last remaining pilot, a mercenary and bounty hunter, is the only chance of survival, ironically driven by the desire for wealth and fame. Left with little choice, the resistance has developed a star fighter capable of intercepting the evil force, equipped with a deadly weapon system and of utmost agility. With no time to lose, the tenth and final prototype of the ship is handed to the pilot. It's name: "Sï?½ldner-X". Should the pilot succeed, a name that shall live on in the memories of man forever to come. And so the battle begins...

VERY involved game where you can mine materials to build new ships and research new weapons. Great production value, with well drawn material management scenes and a cool, cartoony style to the game. At its core is a shooter engine that reminds me of Sinistar.

Subterranean Animism

Subterranean Animism (Japanese: "Touhou Chireiden") is the eleventh game in the Touhou series of manic shoot 'em ups. Like the previous game, Mountain of Faith, collecting power-ups increases the number of "options" around your character (which can be sacrificed as bombs). However, the scoring is based around the concept of "grazing" bullets by flying close to them, which increases the amount of points you can receive.

More brilliance from Zun, this one plays a lot like Mountain of Faith.

The Reap

The Reap is a classic arcade shooter in Zaxxon style. The game has 4 stages. First you shoot enemies in a arctic oriented scenery. Next you fly through the deep oceans, wherein between shipwrecks and fish bones are sharks and submarines waiting for you. After this there comes a canyon-desert stage. Last but not least you fight your enemies in a skyscraper city. Every stage has two or three levels. Altogether there are 10 levels.

Your ship can get 5 weapon systems and all of them can be upgraded three times. The biggest weapon is a rocket blaster. You can also find bombs or invulnerability shields.

An interesting horizontal shmup, in which you control a woman who can store up to six bullets at a time. These need to be replenished by collecting gems that destroyed enemies leave behind.The game is graphically good.

XNeo

XNeo is a shmup, pure and simple, of the Galaga style.
Slide back and forth, fire continuously, kill them enemy ships, and deal with the level boss.
Okay, there's some sort of backstory about how you're actually a hacker and this is the in-cyber interface for hacking, but who cares? Might as well be space. Except maybe that explains why there aren't sound effects for weapons and explosions. That, and the fact that the music is pretty cool Euro-techno.
It plays fast, it's pretty, and it has adaptive difficulty, meaning you can still play the game effectively even if you suck (but score increases if you play at higher levels of difficulty, so a non-sucky player will definitely outscore you).

Zirconia 2 Battle

Zirconia 2: Battle is a 2D shooter in which you battle a computer opponent indirectly. The screen will be split: with you on the left side and your opponent on the right. When the match begins, enemies which do nothing (except move) will spawn. Players must defeat these enemies and collect coins that they drop, of three different colors. You (and your opponent!) have a hand of up to 3 cards at a time which, when used, will have varying effects. You must have the appropriate amount of coins in order to play a card. There are many different strategies you can use here.
