The Zelator: A Modern Initiate Explores the Ancient Mysteries by Mark Hedsel

An amazing book giving a few, no make that many secrets away of the ancient mystery schools which have survived to this day. Mainly with a Gurdjieff flavour with a few astrological, Rosicrucian and ancient history references.

This is a slow burning type of book where the student has to search for the meaning behind Hedsel's veiled secrets. True Esotericism at its best to guide the seeker onward. Much like Fulcanelli, Hedsel and Ovason's secrets are only really available to those with eyes to see.

The Bibliographic notes meticulously compiled by David Ovason run into 103 (Yes that's 103) pages and are worth the price of the book alone. They act as a signpost for the initiate who is seeking further answers pointing to a mixture of some rather obscure and common texts.

Cosmic Consciousness: A Study in the Evolution of the Human Mind by Richard Maurice Bucke

This study is from the early days of the psychiatric profession when its practitioners could still write seriously of spiritual and mystical matters without being ostracized or ridiculed as "unscientific." Briefly, the author personally experienced a sudden episode of nlightenment and rapture that, while it was only of brief duration, changed his outlook on life forever. He spent the rest of his life, he was in his mid-thirties at the time, trying to figure out what had happened to him, and if there were any others.

What he found was that such sudden occurances of enlightenment, these epiphanies, had been occuring to mystics, philosophers, writers, and artists all through recorded history. Not only that, but they were occuring with increased frequency as time went on. Bucke concluded that this marked an evolutionary trend. Carried out to its logical conclusion, he postulated that one day "cosmic consciousness" as he termed it, would be as common in the human race as self consciousness currently is. He based this on the manner in which the ancestors of man slowly climbed from the simple consciousness of animals to an almost universal state of self consciousness.

Personally, I have tendency to view things through the sceptic spectacles until the proper steps are undertaken to acknowledge the theories. Either way, the reader shall gain some insights into hidden history of mankind and how humans were manipulated by hidden elite from the start. My comment: this book contains loads of information, the most secretive symbolism of freemasonry (which is occult in its origin, now forgotten or hidden)is very elaborately explained and all degrees covered. This is the most read book of all time on freemasonry, especially most read one by non-masons and conspiracy theorists.

My comment: Egypt (or "Khemet" or "Khem" in ancient egyptian language) was the primary station of all occult and secret societies and sacred traditions from the time immemorial. Great adepts in magick performed in Egypt their sacred alchemical operations, which were later named ALCHEMY or arabic AL + KHEM(ET). The book contains some actual rituals, techniques and religious practices of egyptian common man and priesthood. Interesting from historical, archeological, theological and occult perspective. At least to me.

Graham Hancock - Fingerprints Of The Gods

This civilization was supposedly centered around Antarctica, and later survivors initiated the Olmec, Aztec, Maya, and Egyptian cultures.
The pole shift theory hinges on Charles Hapgood's theory of Earth Crustal Displacement which has very few supporters in the geological community compared to the more accepted model of plate tectonics.
